WHY CUSHDRAIN?
1
Improves shock absorption upon impact, enhancing player protection.
2
Prolongs the performance of the field by providing firm planarity through 3-4 turf lifecycles.
3
Provides cost efficiencies by eliminating the need to replace the elastic layer with each turf cycle.
4
Reduces downtime caused by heavy rains by improving field drainage.
A Paved-in-place Cushdrain shock pad helps protect athletes from injuries caused by hard impacts with a playing surface.
WHAT IS CUSHDRAIN?
SAFETY & TESTING
Cushdrain has been extensively tested and shown to improve shock attenuation across the field and over time. It also creates a uniform, predictable playing surface.
GMAX – is the measure of the shock absorbency of a sports playing surface.
It’s not a game changer – but it is improving the game.
TECHNOLOGY
Cushdrain is precisely installed and bound together as a monolithic layer, holding its true form and position over 3-4 lifecycles of synthetic turf. Cushdrain improves field drainage (which minimizes downtime caused by heavy rains), and its materials make it resistant to rot, mildew, water freeze-thaw and compression set associated with normal athletic field use.
A tropical downpour - or, raining cats and dogs - not a problem.
Environmentally friendly- it’s a given.
A long-term field investment.
INSTALLATION
Recycled rubber granules are mixed on-site with high-grade polyurethane binder and stone. The viscous mixture is paved on site using specialized equipment and must properly cure prior to turf installation. Construction of the Cushdrain elastic layer demands experienced, trained crews in order to achive the required planarity - but the results are worth it.
